Yesterday was one of my happiest days for soccer. i finally scored for qcmc, the goal dat i always wanted, the goal dat i was longing for... my first qcmc goal in a competition.
We played 4 quarters each consisting of 20 mins.. and everyone looked dejected and down when we let in 2 goals in the first quarter. But..our supporters started arriving and things changed.. yuhan gave us some glimse of hope when he struck a freekick far out from the right side and it sailed over the keepers. at the second quarter break, we knew the equalizer will come soon.. and true enough yuhan lob his shot over the keeper once again, sending everyone on the pitch and off the pitch wild. and then, my best chance of the game came..ervine did a beautiful true pass for yuhan to latch on and he flew down the left flank into the centre, beating defenders chasing him and could score the goal wif only the keeper to beat...but.. he opted to flick it to an open space when i chased the ball like a dog and slotted it into the net. :) i was so so so happy.. i've been waiting for a goal since the first day we had the soccer team.
i think everyone did extremly well today. everyone showed their character on the pitch. winston made a couple of great saves. brandon had some gd runs down the right flank and made gd tackles, bryan was so ever gd in defence, winning back the ball most of the time, tuck was superb despite being small size, his clearances and tackles saved us many times. enshao was fiercer in tackles, my brother was fooling many wif his dribbles.. ck led by example as being the oldest. he ran for almost every ball, made many nice tackles, burst from right, left flank and through the middle. it almost seemed that his stamina was unlimited. ervine came late, but his true pass was the start of the winning goal. ks made less costly errors, and looked more steady this time. darren threaten wif his pace and yuhan showed why he's the best player on the team, pace, stamina, tackling, attacking, the 2 goals and 1 setup. Lastly, i played striker for the first time and it was an unfamiliar role, so.. not the best of performances but the goal boosted my confidence alot..
And also, thanks for all who came down.. especially the girls. mab, geri, mel, yunxing, jolene, eudora, peiling.. the screams, the yells, the cheers from the byline were clearly heard..dats why we won it.. haha..
went back to church, had dinner, chatted, had supper and homed. very tiring day, but it was satisfying. :))
